Google's +1 button may impact how your website ranks

Google have rolled out a new feature which may affect your site visiblity in search engines. The feature is called Google +1 . The +1 feature is a way for Google users to say they like your website or a specific page on it clicking a “+1” button that looks like this on your web pages...


If someone “likes” your site then it appears in search engine results like this:


Google have indicated that they will use the “Likes” from the +1 button along with many other factors to help rank you website in Google stating:

“We’ll also start to look at +1’s as one of the many signals we use to determine a page’s relevance and ranking”

Depending on the technology you use DBS may be able to add the +1 button to your website so that your visitors can click on it to “like".

The +1 button shouldn't be viewed as a replacement for link building services but as another tool in the armoury for ranking highly on Google.
