Would you like to know what people say about you online behind your back?

Google have a nifty feature called "Google Alerts". This lets you know each time you, another person or thing on your list of "alerts" is mentioned online.

You simply got to www.google.com/alerts and type in what you want to get an alert on and how often you want to get the alert. The alert comes in an email to you.

For example let's say you have a hot prospect called "David Clarke" then you will get an email and a link to each place he has been mentioned on the internet. This give you an opportunity to contact him in a meaningful manner and score brownie points ie

"Hi David - I saw your article on Whippet Aerodynamics - it was absolutely sensational!"

I have set up alerts on my company's key products which lets me know what my competition are up to plus alerts on my company's name - DBS Internet Marketing.

You need a Google account to access the free alerts feature but they are a doddle to set up.
